Focus and Scope

Digital Muslim Review is an interdisciplinary journal exploring Islam and Muslim communities in the digital world. It highlights the intersection of Islamic studies, digital technology, and cultural practices, with a primary focus on the Muslim world. However, in certain cases, the journal also welcomes articles on Islam and Muslim communities in minority settings. In addition to examining how digital transformation influences Islamic thought, education, media, and community life, the journal also engages with conceptual issues in Digital Islam, such as its definition and theoretical foundations, new peer review models for digital scholarship, and the challenges of big data-driven research.

The journal encourages diverse methodological approaches, including historical, sociological, anthropological, and computational perspectives, to explore various Digital Islam projects and the tools used in such research. Adopting a critical approach, it examines how technology shapes Muslim societies socially, culturally, economically, and politically. Digital Muslim Review aims to serve as a platform for innovative research that bridges traditional Islamic scholarship with digital advancements, while fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities of contemporary technologies within the global Muslim community.
